Harry Callahan
This photo uses white space to help
the viewer focus on the centre of the picture what appears to be a mother and
her son. Having the model in the centre
of the page leaves a lot of space around them to help create depth. It is also interesting that the women is
wearing black which contrasts with the grey all around her.
Annie Leibovitz
This photograph of a woman uses lines
too help keep her in focus and centred in the shot. I find her mask and attire causes illusion
and made me think about who or what she could represent. There is also a slight shadow on her left
side from her haid down her left arm.
Having the sky as a backdrop allows the viewer to focus more on the model
than anything else, but the buildings on her sides are necessary to help keep
her centred.
Imogen Cunningham
This is my favourite photo out of the
three. The blurred image and facial
expression the woman is expressing makes me feel sorry for her. She seems to be standing next to a plant that
is still growing where she is most likely declining. It evokes feelings of death and sadness, and
loss of life but how new life will always come whether it is in the form of a
person or nature.
